Inspired by Kafka's Metamorphosis, this is made of four separate pieces of silver, each slightly different in shape for overlap/underlap, bruised and textured then soldered together. Then twisted into shape, refined and edges flattened to accentuate the ripple/layers and filed to shape. Silver wire threaded through the top wedge and twisted to make a plaited/knot style rope. Then heavily oxidised and rubbed back in stages, to give varying degrees of light and contrast. It has a lovely weight, due to the amount of silver melded together - a dark, swirling, intricate piece, full of nuance, rhythm and fluidity. Hung on an 18 inch belcher chain. 35mm x 10mm and 5mm thick.

Hallmarked consisting of Maker's mark, Traditional Fineness mark, Millesimal Fineness mark, Assay Office mark and Date Letter mark.

  • Try to avoid wearing your jewellery when swimming, playing sport, gardening, doing DIY or in contact with chemicals, such as household cleaning agents, etc. If you are storing your jewellery for any length of time, wrap it in tissue/cloth and seal in an airtight bag to prevent oxidation. When cleaning jewellery, never use commercial chemical jewellery-cleaners, which invariably weaken the metal and can cause damage. Simply wash in mild soapy water, rinse and wipe clean. Then lightly polish with a soft cloth (a glasses-lense cloth is ideal).
